“NUC Accreditation Team Praises LASU for Remarkable Signs of Improvement”
“I am not new to LASU. I have led accreditation teams here twice, and coming here again, I can see remarkable signs of improvement everywhere. They say when the righteous rule, the people rejoice. I commend you, madam VC, for what you are doing here.”
Those were the words of eminent professor of Theatre and Performance Studies from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Prof. Alex Asigbo, when he led a team of three on an accreditation assessment of Theatre Arts and Music programme at the Lagos State University on Monday, 20th November 2023.
He made the comments while speaking on behalf of the Theatre Arts, Sociology and Transport Management accreditation teams during the courtesy visit to the VC held at the Senate Chamber, Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate building, main campus, Ojo. He further encouraged the VC to continue her good works and not be tired.
Apart from members of the university management who were at the meeting, the Director of Quality Assurance, Prof. Rafiu Okuneye, and deans of concerned faculties, Prof. Ibrahim Olagunju (postgraduate schools), Prof. T. M. Salisu (Arts), Prof. Olufemi Lawal (Social Science) and Prof. Charles Asenime (Transport) were also on ground alongside their Heads of Departments and professors.
In a related development, the three-member NUC teams for the Mass Communication Studies, on Monday, concluded their work and gave a report to the VC at an exit meeting which took place at the VC’s Conference Room, main campus, Ojo.
The team, led by Prof. Emmanuel Okechi also showered encomiums on the VC and management for all that they have been doing to make the assessment a success. The exit meeting had in attendance the dean of the faculty, Prof. Yinka Alawode, Heads of Departments and professors in the faculty.
