Vote For Candidates Who Possess Strong Moral Principles – Sultan of Sokoto

Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto and General President of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), has urged Nigerians to vote for candidates in the general elections of 2023 who possess strong moral principles.

Abubakar made the plea while addressing delegates at the 29th regular meeting of the National Council on Water Resources (NCWR) on Thursday in Sokoto.

As the general elections for the nation drew near, the Sultan urged Nigerians to vote with prudence.

“We should vote for Nigeria first and not take into account the religious or ethnic backgrounds of any candidates, Abubakar said.

Abubakar said: ”Our country is far better than many countries of the world in terms of security.

“Therefore, we should continue to support and appreciate our country and leaders with prayers in order to be able to address our challenges.”

Abubakar expressed his gratitude to the Federal Government for picking Sokoto State to host the council meeting, as well as to the Minister of Water Resources and ministry employees.
