ISIS Leader Feared Killed By Special Forces Operation
Abu al-Hassan al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi, the leader of the Islamic State, was killed in a recent special forces operation.
According to CNN, the terrorist group’s media outlet, al-Furqan, announced this in an audio recording by an ISIS spokesman on Wednesday.
The slain leader was chosen in March of this year following the murder of Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi in a military operation in northwest Syria, according to Vanguard.

“I announce and lament for the Islamic State and its warriors, (the absence) of the Amir of Believers and Calipha of Muslims Abu al-Hasan al-Hashmi al-Qurayshi.
“He was murdered while fighting against God’s enemies,” claimed spokesman Abu Omar al-Muhajer.
While the circumstances surrounding al-death Qurayshi’s were unknown, US National Security Council coordinator John Kirby reacted to the news.
“We absolutely welcome the news of another ISIS leader’s demise.” I don’t have any other operational information to share at this time. “We’re still working through that,” Kirby added.
According to CNN, the group promptly named Abu al-Husain al-Husaini al-Quraishi as its new leader.
Little is known about him, but the group labelled him as a “old fighter” without elaborating.
