Saudi Prince Rewards National Team Players With Rolls Royce Each For Argentina’s Defeat
Each member of the Saudi Arabian national team will receive a Rolls Royce Phantom for defeated Argentina in their World Cup opening match in Qatar, according to the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.
Despite all odds, a tenacious Saudi Arabian team shocked the Copa America champions 2-1 on Tuesday.
It is not unusual for a Saudi Arabian player to receive a Rolls Royce. Saeed Al-Owairan received one of the luxury automobiles in the 1994 tournament after beating Belgium 1-0 with the game-winning goal.
However, in 2022, despite having seven-time Ballon d’Or winner and arguably the best player in the world on their roster, Lionel Messi, a struggling Argentina was unable to earn a point despite controlling the game for the majority of the time.
The middle eastern team entered halftime with a bleak outcome in sight after Messi’s penalty in the first 10 minutes of play. However, Saudi Arabia immediately turned the game around after the second half began with Saleh Alshehri’s goal, 48′, tying Argentina, and Saleh Ald.

Saudi King, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, had already declared a national holiday the day following his victory. Students in all educational levels and personnel in the public and private sectors were all granted the day off to commemorate the astounding victory.
With Mexico and Poland now locked in goalless draws and two-time champion Argentina at the bottom of the group, Saudi Arabia is the only side in Group C to have won a match thus far in the competition.
