Atiku Campaign DG Narrowly Evades Being Shot In Port Harcourt
Dr. Abiye Sekibo, the director general of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) campaign council in Rivers State, narrowly evaded being shot on Thursday before the PDP’s presidential campaign event there.
According to reports, unidentified gunmen who appeared to be political thugs opened fire on the campaign director’s armoured Land Cruiser on Thursday night in Rainbow Town, Port Harcourt.
He was on his way to the proposed venue of the party’s presidential rally when the gunmen attacked his vehicle.
Sekibo who confirmed the incident at a news briefing on Friday said his car was riddled with bullets and the venue of the proposed rally, set on fire while policemen watched the inferno.
“As we approached the site, those policemen who were watching the fire opened fire on our vehicle. I looked at the Hilux vehicles, they were police Hilux vehicles attached to the Governor of Rivers State.”
