Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, has stated that, if elected in 2023, his goal will be to reconstruct Nigeria in order to restore its unity through equality, social justice, reciprocal cooperation, and consensus among our varied peoples.
According to Atiku, the establishment of a strong, resilient, inclusive, and prosperous economy that creates opportunity, jobs, and wealth while lifting the poor out of poverty is part of the building process.
Atiku also added that it entails building a strong and effective democratic government where the safety and security of the people and their property is the primary, unique, and most important responsibility.
On September 28, 2022, the former vice president made the announcement during the formation of the Presidential Campaign Council.
Atiku further explained that he would encourage the adoption of a true federal system that provides all the federating units that are equal, and has a fair and representative federal government that secures Nigeria’s borders, defends the people and ensures national unity.
Atiku Abubakar, in his speech focused on how to revamp, bolster, and invest in Nigeria’s educational system to give its students the knowledge and abilities necessary to compete in the modern, science- and technology-driven, global order and to lead healthy, fruitful, and fulfilling lives.

He continued by saying that the country was less united now than it had ever been during a civil war.
In order to restore Nigeria’s unity, Atiku added, “our goals for Nigeria and Nigerians are to construct a strong and successful democratic government where the protection and security of our people and their property is our first and singly most essential obligation.
“To establish a strong, resilient, inclusive and prosperous economy that generates opportunity, jobs and wealth while lifting the poor out of poverty; to encourage the adoption of a true federal system that provides where all the federating units are equal and has a fair and representative federal government that secures our borders, defends our people and ensures national unity, whilst allowing the federating units to develop and grow in line priorities which they have set on their own.
“To redevelop, invest in, and strengthen our education system to provide its recipients with the education and skills needed to compete in the new global order driven by innovation, science, and technology, as well as to live healthy, productive, and meaningful lives,” Atiku stated.
