CBN Governor Emefiele Is Back

Godwin Emefiele, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN) has covertly travelled back to his own country.

Emefiele reportedly returned to the country amidst the call for his arrest over allegations of fraud and terrorism.

Emefiele’s return to Nigeria was verified to Premium Times by sources at CBN and the administration.

The CBN Governor has been abroad because of concern for his safety from Department of State Security Service (DSS) agents who could try to detain him.

According to a source in the presidency who talked with the platform, Emefiele was granted permission by President Muhammadu Buhari for a two-week leave that ended on Tuesday.

His vacation was over yesterday, therefore he had to report to work today, the insider stated.

According to other evidence, the CBN Governor intends to depart the country again very soon.
