Divine Intervention Needed: Pastor Adeboye Criticizes Nigeria’s Refinery Failures, Calls for Change

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has shared concerns over the influence of powerful cabals allegedly hindering the success of private refineries in Nigeria. He made the revelation during the Holy Ghost Congress 2024, themed “Onwards Christian Soldiers,” held at Redemption City along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Pastor Adeboye recounted how his earlier call for prayers against these forces nearly led to backlash. Referring to remarks made at the Abuja Special Holy Ghost Service weeks ago, he said:

“I said something during the Abuja Holy Ghost Service which I am not going to repeat because I nearly got into trouble because of telling the truth. Certain things happened, at least in my nation Nigeria, that force you to wonder: Are we under a curse? There are nations that didn’t have all the resources we have, and yet, they seem to be doing better than we are doing. Hmmmm, let me leave that out.”

Criticism Over Nigeria’s Refinery Spending

Pastor Adeboye also expressed frustration over the billions of naira spent on maintaining Nigeria’s four state-owned refineries, which continue to underperform. He called for divine intervention, proclaiming hope for brighter days ahead:

“Let me just say tonight, in the name above every other name, there will be light in our nations.”

Emphasis on Faith and Connection with God

The RCCG leader encouraged Nigerians to cultivate a deeper relationship with God, emphasizing that it is the key to overcoming emptiness, storms, and confusion:

“The power of a soldier is determined by who is behind him. If you stick with your Commander-in-Chief, you will soon become like Him.”

Drawing parallels from scripture, Pastor Adeboye explained how God’s commanding voice brought light into existence:

“When He said, ‘Let there be light,’ it was not a whisper; it was a command. Before light came, there was confusion and emptiness. Wherever darkness exists, there is bound to be confusion.”
