As part of its intention to implement the safe school project, the Global Partnership for Education has committed $20 million in support for schools in the North East through Adamu Adamu, the minister of education.
In reaction to the increasing number of attacks on the right to education, including the kidnapping of more than 200 girls from a secondary school in northern Nigeria, the safe school initiative was established.
Adamu Adamu, the minister of education, praised various states and the Federal Capital Territory for their contributions to the development of secure schools across the nation in a statement made available to our reporter on Sunday.

“Adamu claimed that in order to ensure that all Nigerian people have equal access to educational opportunities, a secure, tranquil, and safe environment is critically required, and he argued that schools must be kept as safe and secure as possible.
The Federal Ministry of Education hosted an international conference on the SSD in October 2021 to share experience and knowledge with other Sahel countries in addressing attacks on education. This followed the approval of a National Policy on School Safety and Violence Free Schools in Nigeria and its Implementation Guidelines last year.
