The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) has not yet commenced.

In a statement shared on its official X account on Wednesday, JAMB assured prospective candidates that details of the registration process would be announced soon.

Preparation Guidelines for Candidates

JAMB urged candidates to begin preparations ahead of the registration period by:

  1. Securing a National Identification Number (NIN): This is a prerequisite for registration.
  2. Obtaining a unique phone number: Candidates should ensure the number has not been used previously to register on JAMB’s platform to generate their profile code.

The statement read:

“You can get your NIN ahead and a phone number that has not been previously used to register on our platform to generate your profile code prior to the time.”

Recommended Reading Text for 2025 UTME

As part of its preparations, JAMB has unveiled The Lekki Headmaster by Kabir Alabi Garba as the recommended text for the Use of English paper in the 2025 UTME.

The announcement on JAMB’s social media stated:

“Attention prospective 2025 UTME candidates! This is to inform you that The Lekki Headmaster by Kabir Alabi Garba has been approved as the reading text for the Use of English.

“Details on the UTME/DE registration shall be released shortly. Kindly be on the lookout for updates.”

Candidates are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the text as part of their exam preparation.

JAMB has also directed its staff to update their profiles or register afresh in preparation for the 2025 examination cycle. The directive aims to ensure compliance with established protocols during the examination process.

The board, in its latest bulletin dated January 13, reiterated its commitment to a seamless registration and examination process.
