Celebrating Excellence in Education: Meet the Top 11 Finalists
Lagos, Nigeria – October 7, 2024 – The Maltina Teacher of the Year competition, organized by the Nigerian Breweries-Felix Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund, has unveiled its finalists for 2024. Out of an impressive 1,477 entries, 1,300 teachers were initially selected, leading to the final 11 candidates who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and skill in education.
A Rigorous Selection Process
The competition’s judging panel meticulously evaluated the 136 teachers who advanced to the second phase. The final selection process exemplified transparency and fairness, with the panel commending the rigorous criteria applied throughout. Sade Morgan, Corporate Affairs Director at Nigerian Breweries Plc, praised the judges for their efforts in ensuring a thorough assessment of candidates.

The distinguished finalists representing various regions across Nigeria are:
- Aniefiok Iniobong Udoh – Community Secondary Commercial School, Ikot Oku Ikono, Akwa Ibom State
- Nwosu Chinenye Augustina – Anthony Obaze Memorial Community Secondary School, Ogbaru LGA, Anambra
- Ojo Olumuyiwa Olumide – Apex Group of School, Ibillo, Akoko Edo, Edo State
- Ojo Olufunke Adewunmi – Praise Worthy Secondary School, Ikota Ekiti, Ekiti State
- Akinyele Samuel – Kingdom Seed International School, Lokoja, Kogi State
- Abidoye Aderonke Ibiyemi – Kosofe Senior College, Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Lagos State
- Esomnofu Chidiebube Ifechukwu – Crown Grace School, Mararaba, Nasarawa State
- Kehinde Oladapo Olukayode – Molusi College, Oke Sopen, Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State
- Isaac Michael Ayodele – CAC Grammar School, Akure, Ondo State
- Famuyide Florence Bola – Olatunde Comprehensive High School, Owena-Ijesa, Osun State
- Abiodun Regina Nwagbo – Mother’s Joy College, Ibadan, Oyo State
Looking Ahead: The Grand Finale
The winner of the 2024 Maltina Teacher of the Year will be determined after a comprehensive interview and evaluation process conducted by an esteemed panel of judges. The grand finale is set to take place on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. The event will be graced by notable guests, including the Honourable Minister of State for Education, Hon. Dr. Yussuf Sununu, and the Chief Host, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
