Miyetti Allah Queries Appeal Court Discharge and Acquital Of Nnamdi Kanu
A pan-Fulani socio-cultural association, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, has decried the judgement of the Court of Appeal that discharged and acquitted the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, and described it as “a miscarriage of justice.”
A three-member panel of the Court of Appeal in Abuja on Thursday, struck out all seven charges against Kanu.
While reacting to the judgement, Saleh Alhassan, the National Secretary of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, urged the Nigerian government to approach the Supreme Court.
Speaking to reporters, Miyetti Allah representative, Alhassan, said that Kanu is a threat to national security and releasing him will jeopardise the conduct of the 2023 general elections.

“We are really disappointed by this decision; how can the Appeal Court discharge a terrorist like Nnamdi Kanu, who has organised the death of innocent pastoralists, women, children, security personnel, and insurgency against the country?” Miyetti Allah.
“I believe this is a miscarriage of justice; they should not have released Kanu.” They should file an appeal with the Supreme Court. Nnamdi Kanu endangers national security. Setting him free would jeopardise the conduct of the elections in 2023.
Miyetti Allah said: “It will send a very hazardous signal and set a poor precedent for other criminal gangs to continue operating with impunity.” We suspect a compromise in the legal process, and we believe the AGF will act appropriately by filing an appeal. “
