The Fulani socio-cultural organisation Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore Monday committed to addressing the alleged injustice experienced by its members all around the nation, declaring that it must end.
In order to accomplish this, the organisation established a 55-member legal committee to assess all claims made against its members nationwide in order to pursue legal remedies.
To address the issues of education and social cohesion, two other committees, including enlightenment and nomadic education, were also established.
The group made their position known at their annual general meeting, which was held in Nasarawa State’s Karu Local Government Area.
The organisation claims that the ongoing imprisonment of Fulani livestock herders in the nation has forced the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore Fulani to establish a 55-member legal team to free herdsmen who are currently serving unfair prison sentences.
Alhaji Abdullahi Bodejo, the association’s national president, said the idea that all Fulani herders harbour criminal intent is false, unjust, and unfair while speaking at the group’s annual general meeting.

The group has instructed the legal team, he continued, to offer legal support to those herders who have been treated unfairly, degraded, or imprisoned in their native country.
Bodejo warned that anyone stirring up trouble among other citizens of the country and getting arrested by the security agencies would not be rescued by the association, while urging the herders to live in peace and harmony with other Nigerians in order to reduce the rate of accusations and being arrested by the security agencies.
“For unfair reasons, many of our kin are incarcerated in prisons across the nation. Simply because they are pastoring close to grazing areas, they are consistently detained and imprisoned.
Others were detained solely on the grounds that they were Fulani.

“The situation has been very worrisome, which is why we decided to constitute the 55-man legal team to help us fight for the cause of our people, especially the innocent ones, to get justice.
“This association does not encourage violence. We believe in one Nigeria and remain committed to peace and a united nation, so anyone of our kinsmen found to be involved in unjustified trouble will not be assisted by our lawyers,” he said.
According to Hajiya Aisha Bala Muhammed, the First Lady of Bauchi State and Matron of the Association, criminal activity in the nation is committed by members of all tribes, and as a result, Fulani herders should not be treated as if criminal activity begins and ends with them.
She urged association members to adopt the culture of educating their kids and wards in order to significantly lower crime in society.
The Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, earlier promised the organisation of the state government’s ongoing assistance in matters affecting its members in his welcoming speech. Sule was represented by the Chairman of the Karu LGA, James Thomas.
