Dr Ayo Ogunsan, a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), has won the NAOSNP’s Man of the Year Award for 2022.
Ayo Ogunsan received the Man of the Year award as a result of this enormous support. He is a well-respected civilian who supports the Nigeria Police and other security agencies to a great extent.
Notable figures nationally and internationally have lauded Ogunsan’s competence and dexterity on security issues.
The award ceremony for: “the great work you are doing to advocate the cause of national security and economic development,” took place on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Lagos’ famous Civic Center.
The third edition of the annual conference and prize presented by the umbrella organisation of journalists and publishers covering security, safety, and related beats.
In order for security agencies in Nigeria to function and be successful, the theme “Crime Prevention and Intelligence Gathering: Institutionalising Citizen Participation, Technology, and the way forward” was set against the backdrop of this crucial support.
The Chairman of Executive Trainers Limited, Dr Ayo Ogunsan, expressed his excitement over the honour. He said: “My voyage into the security realm started only about 11 years ago.” After that, I resolved to do all in my power to further the goals of Nigeria’s security agencies, especially those in Lagos State.
”When I see security agencies operating effectively and having what they need, it makes me happy. I am content as long as I can see them smiling. If we, as civilians, decline to assist them, we cannot complain.”
Ogunsan said: ”For me, this honour means one thing only. Hard work is rewarded with greater work. He declared to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, “You have pushed me to do more, and I will do more” (NAOSNP).
”I want to thank you all for coming out today, said the patron of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) in Lagos State, who was joined at the ceremony by a sizable group of security icons from both the private and public sectors.
”Thank you for recognising me today on behalf of the AIG Zone 2, AIG Adeleke Bode, Commissioner of Police, Lagos Command, CP Abiodun Alabi, Commissioner of Police, Ogun state, CP Lanre Bankole, and AIG Olusegun Odumosu (rtd). I’m quite happy to see older people attend the programme that our little lads are performing.”
Another tall civilian, Babajide Kolade-Otitoju, spoke out in favour of the actions of the security authorities, saying: “Who says all security agents are corrupt?
That assertion is wholly false. I am familiar with many security personnel that refuse to accept bribes. If I use the term “bribe,” I mean a bribe that has the potential to completely alter your life.
And to every member of the Nigerian Army, Police, NSCDC, Immigration, Customs, and NDLEA who faithfully carried out their jobs and stood up for the truth in order to make Nigeria great by refusing to accept bribes of any kind. On the occasion, the media champion also received a prize.
Major General Ike Nwachukwu (Retd), a former minister of external affairs and governor of the former Imo State, praised security organisations for their selfless service to the nation and said that people can sleep soundly because of the effort the security organisations have been doing.
