Emefiele’s Maitama House Occupy By Group of Police Officers
While a section of the Nigerian Police is laying siege to the Maitama home of Central Bank Governor Godwin Emefiele, another section of the police has denied being aware of the siege.
Presently, a group of police officers is occupying the Maitama home of Central Bank Governor Godwin Emefiele.
The armed police officers, numbering over 10, besieged the troubled governor of the apex bank’s residence at No. 8 Colorado Street, Maitama, Abuja, at around 8:40 p.m. on Tuesday, according to Punch.
According to a reliable source within the NPF, the siege was initiated in anticipation of Emefiele’s upcoming appearance before the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday for a $53 million judgement obligation related to the Paris Club refund.
The governor is anticipated to appear in court tomorrow on the $53 million judgement debt related to the Paris Club reimbursement, which he has yet to explain, according to the source.

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command and Force Headquarters, however, have denied knowing about the siege.
