Judicial Task Force Set Pre-Election Cases

For you voters who are concerned about justice and fairness with regards to the election, rest assured. The Federal High Court of Nigeria just established a swift task force to hear all pre-election cases before it.

The Federal Housing Corporation made this known on Wednesday in a statement by its Assistant Director of Information, Dr Catherine Oby-Christopher.

After receiving many election suits to process, the Honourable Chief Judge of the Court, Justice John Tsoho, issued a circular letter to designate a team of judges to help address the matter.

Due to the urgency of the electoral cases, all regular cases are suspended in the court that judges are members of.

“In view of the large number of pre-election cases filed, and the growing risk that they will lapse, it has become necessary to form a task force to speed up the process in those divisions experiencing a surplus,” reads the notice.

Justice Tsoho went on to say that the judges would take up the pre-election cases within four weeks.
