President Bola Tinubu has expressed strong confidence in the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that the party is well-positioned to build Nigeria and contribute to the growth of Africa as a whole.
Tinubu Reaffirms Commitment to Renewed Hope Agenda
Speaking on Tuesday during the APC Caucus Meeting at the State House in Abuja, Tinubu reaffirmed his dedication to the Renewed Hope Manifesto and assured Nigerians that his administration remains focused on delivering key reforms.
Nigeria’s Role in Africa’s Growth
Addressing party members, Tinubu emphasized that Nigeria has the capacity to drive economic and political stability across Africa.
“We can steer the future of this country and make a difference. I like what is happening around the world. It is teaching a lesson that Nigeria is a great African country that can build and help Africa grow.”
He also stressed the need to achieve food sovereignty, not just food security, to ensure that Nigeria becomes self-reliant and resilient against global economic shocks.
“I am a very happy man; the sunny side of this country is on the horizon. Things are getting better; the days of gloom are gone. We are looking at the brighter and sunnier side of our country and our people.”
Fuel Subsidy Removal and Economic Policies
Tinubu acknowledged the challenges Nigerians face as a result of some of his administration’s economic policies, including the removal of fuel subsidies. However, he maintained that the decision was necessary to prevent economic collapse and ensure that government interventions benefit the people more effectively.
“Our determination to deliver is unshaken despite the cacophony of misguided, unfounded, and gloomy claims made by our detractors. They will continue to do it, but we are extremely focused.”
He called on APC members and Nigerians to remain patient, assuring them that his government is committed to addressing economic difficulties and fostering long-term stability.
APC Leadership and Political Success
Tinubu commended APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, for successfully leading the party and securing electoral victories in recent elections.
“I thank the chairman of our party. You have earned accolades from various elections. You are our pride; we have a hardworking individual who has led the party so well along with members of the working committee.”
Additionally, Senator Abdulaziz Yari (APC-Zamfara West) noted that the security situation in Zamfara State had significantly improved under Tinubu’s leadership, further strengthening public confidence in the administration’s policies.
Strategic Repositioning for a Stronger Nigeria
Tinubu urged APC members to continue supporting his administration’s vision for a progressive and forward-looking Nigeria.
“Our strategic repositioning requires us to build on our success and project a forward-looking agenda that resonates with the hopes and aspirations of Nigerians.”
He reassured party members that his government remains fully committed to implementing progressive ideas that align with APC’s vision for national development.
