I Will Pursue My Mandate To Supreme Court – Adeleke
Ademola Adeleke, the embattled governor of Osun State, has pledged to fight the Tribunal’s decision to remove him from office on Friday, January 27, 2023 to the Supreme Court.
He asked everyone to maintain their composure and promised to do everything in his power to uphold this highly regarded pledge.
“I want to utilize this opportunity to urge on our people to maintain calm,” Adeleke, who communicated through a verified Twitter account, stated.
“We will challenge the ruling, and we are confident that justice will be served.” Please be confident that we will make every effort to uphold this highly regarded mandate. Godspeed, Osun!
Ademola Adeleke was fired from her position as governor of Osun State earlier today by the legally established Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Osogbo.
According to a split ruling by the panel of two to one, the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, should cancel the Certificate of Return it issued to Adeleke and former governor Adegboyega Oyetola.
According to the majority verdict, which was read by the chairman, Justice Tertse Kume, Oyetola obtained the majority of valid votes—314,931—as opposed to Adeleke’s 290,266.
