Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress Presidential Candidate, announced that the capital of Kwara State, Ilorin, in the country’s North-Central region, has been picked as Tinubu’s official launch location.
This was confirmed by one of the party’s top officials (name withheld), who also attended Wednesday’s tripartite meeting with the Progressive Governors Forum, Presidential Campaign Council, and APC National Working Committee members.
According to Punch’s report, one of Tinubu’s supporters said that the presidential candidate and the stakeholders agreed on the North-Central region in general and Ilorin in particular.
The three-hour closed-door meeting at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja was met with heavy traffic and security presence.
Tinubu’s running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima; Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Atiku Bagudu; Deputy Director-General of the PCC, Adams Oshimhole; Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje; Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong; and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila were among those in attendance.
Although Festus Keyamo, the Presidential Campaign Council’s spokesman, told journalists after the meeting that a’region’ had been chosen to commence the campaign, he refused to reveal it.
“We have agreed on the region to launch the campaign, but I am not going to announce it now,” he said. We have also addressed all of the fundamental concerns because we want to carry the leaders of the country.
“At the moment, no date has been set” (for PCC inauguration). But we’ll let you know sooner than you expect.”
When asked why the APC stakeholders and the candidate had yet to agree on a date for both the campaign and the PCC inauguration, the legal icon confessed that no particular date had been agreed upon.
According to him, a political campaign must include a deliberate and calculated strategy to ensure that no stone is left unturned.
However, according to our source, one of Tinubu’s supporters, the lot fell on Kwara State after careful permutation.
“The candidate and the stakeholders debated thoughtfully on the subject, considering all the chances before eventually agreeing on the choice of North-Central in general and Ilorin in particular,” he stated.
“It will serve as the launch pad for our campaign before we expand into other places.” “However, no date has been set,” he explained.
When asked on Friday if the campaign is indeed commencing from Ilorin, both Keyamo and the PCC Director of Media and Publicity, Bayo Onanuga, were cautious to give details. They refused to confirm or deny the report.

“We cannot confirm anything right now,” Keyamo added. There is no formal publication on that, despite the fact that it is not a disclaimer.”
Onanuga’s stance on the matter was no different.
“Why don’t you just wait?” It will be announced by the party. I can’t confirm anything for you. You (the media) should wait till we release the manifesto and the PCC this week. That is what we intend to accomplish initially,” he said.
Tinubu has hit the ground running after his October 6 return to the country from a brief vacation in London due to rumoured ill-health.
Elated party leaders and faithful awaited him at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Thursday.
They were led by Senator Kashim Shettima, his campaign mate, and Adams Oshiomhole, a former APC National Chairman.
The APC presidential candidate has been actively involved in a series of talks and nocturnal meetings with political associates throughout the last week.
He was also seen enjoying Jumat at Abuja’s Central Mosque, from which he left with another group to inspect his campaign headquarters.
