Former U.S. President Warns of Consequences, Raises Controversy Over Gaza Policy
Washington, D.C. – Former U.S. President Donald Trump has urged for the cancellation of the Israel-Hamas ceasefire if the militant group fails to release all remaining hostages by midday on Saturday. Speaking to reporters on Monday after signing a series of executive orders, Trump warned of severe consequences, stating:
“If they’re not here, all hell is going to break out.”
However, he acknowledged that the ultimate decision rests with Israel, adding, “I’m speaking for myself. Israel can override it.”
Trump Opposes Palestinian Right to Return
In an interview with Fox News, Trump took a firm stance against Palestinians’ right to return to Gaza, contradicting members of his own administration who previously suggested his remarks were about temporary relocation rather than permanent displacement.
Threat to Withhold U.S. Aid from Jordan and Egypt
Trump also intensified pressure on Jordan and Egypt, calling on them to accept Palestinian refugees from Gaza. When asked whether he would consider cutting U.S. aid to these nations if they refused, he responded:
“Yeah, maybe. Sure. Why not? If they don’t agree, I would. I would conceivably withhold aid, yeah.”
