Prof. Enikuomehin pointing the attention of LASU Vice-Chancellor to an issue.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, on Thursday, 5th October 2023, inaugurated the newly revamped Result Processing Centre in the Directorate of ICT named after her. The centre domiciled in the ICT building on the main campus, Ojo, was upgraded to enhance the speed and accuracy of result processing in the University.
The Director, DICT, Prof Toyin Enikuomehin, while welcoming members of the University Management to the Centre, commended the VC for approving the upgrading and equipping of the facility, a gesture, which he said, would not only improve service delivery but further motivate members of staff in the Directorate.
He also expressed confidence about the safety of data in the Centre: “VC ma, this Centre will be fraud-proof. No issue that can embarrass the University will emanate from here because of the diligence and commitment of our staff, “he said.
Prof Enikuomehin then announced that to commemorate the inauguration of the Centre, the result portal will be opened effective the same day, Thursday, to allow students to check their results.
In her comment, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, expressed her delight at the actualisation of the Centre. She said, “We have invested so much in our ICT, and I am glad that this result processing Centre has come to life.” I believe that with what we have here, our results will be coming out without delay and fraud-free too,” she said before inaugurating the Centre to the glory of God and use of the university.”
After inspecting the facility, she gave kudos to the leadership of the Directorate for the excellent job being done and assured of further support for the Centre to encourage staff retention.
She said, “I feel very happy with the Directorate. DICT is the engine room of this university. Hundreds of millions of Naira have gone into putting this place together, especially buying software. So I implore you to take good care of the facilities we have here.”
She also promised support for the Centre to forestall the problem of brain drain. “A lot of our young people especially in ICT, are leaving the country for greener pastures. Our administration will not let that happen to the staff here. We will give you some support to prevent brain drain, “she said to loud applause from members of management and staff of the directorates present.
The facility houses a server room, offices cum conference rooms, and a kitchenette for the staff.
