Pastor Enoch Adeboye, general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has stated that God has not yet told him whether the country will hold elections next year.
This is the second time in 2022 that Adeboye has reiterated that God has not revealed anything to him about the forthcoming elections, even as Nigerians desired prophecy from the revered pastor.
His statement comes only three months until the 2023 general elections, and campaigns by various political parties and candidates have gained traction.
The revered cleric made the claim on Friday in the church’s redemption camp while ministering at the church’s monthly programme dubbed “Holy Ghost Service.”
Addressing his congregation, Adeboye bemoaned the state of the nation and stated that he does not intend to scare anyone, but that God has not revealed whether or not the 2023 general elections will take place.
“God hasn’t told me anything about next year’s election,” he said.
In the midst of the yet-to-come prophecy from God, Pastor Adeboye added that he is a pastor and not a prophet, that he prayed for anyone who comes to him asking for prayers, and that it is God who decides what happens after he prays.
“It is my responsibility to pray.” I pray for everyone who comes to me for help. It is up to God to decide what will happen.”
Adeboye read from 2 Chronicles 7:13-14, charging Christians to always remain prayerful while urging them to pray to God to heal the land, during his sermons on the event’s theme, “Let It Rain.”

He went on to say that rain is a symbol of hope, restoration, and divine favour, and that it is associated with blessings, God’s pleasure, fruitfulness, and divine supply in the spiritual realm.
April 3, 2022 during a Sunday service Adeboye for the first time stated that he is unsure whether Nigeria will hold elections in 2023.
Adeboye said: “As we speak, I am unsure whether or not there will be an election in Nigeria.” “Yet,” Adeboye said at the April thanksgiving service, “because the Lord has not told me about it.”
That was when Adeboye was reacting to Nigeria’s rising insecurity, citing the spare of attacks and killings in Kaduna State.
“You cannot travel by road because you risk being kidnapped and attacked.” You cannot travel by train because you will be attacked. There is no safe place.” he noted.
