YABATECH Students Excel in National Essay Competition

Students from Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) have been crowned the overall winners of the 7th Edition of the Otunba (Mrs.) ‘Debola Osibogun National Essay Competition, organized by the Chartered Institute of Bankers (CIBN). This prestigious competition took place at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja and featured undergraduates from Banking and Finance and related fields across Nigerian tertiary institutions.

Outstanding Performance in Oral Interview

Miss Thelma Chinazor Ugochukwu, an HND 2 student from the Department of Banking and Finance, emerged as the winner of the oral interview segment. This achievement followed a rigorous assessment conducted by prominent Human Resource Executives from various banks, highlighting the high standards of the competition.

Acknowledging Dedication and Commitment

The Deputy Director of Capacity Building Certification and Standard Directorate at CIBN commended the exceptional efforts of both the faculty and students that led to this remarkable achievement. The recognition reflects the hard work and dedication exhibited by everyone involved in the program.

In addition to the student’s accolades, Dr. Adebola Adebisi, Head of the Department of Banking and Finance, was honored as the Head of Department Award recipient at the 7th Annual Banking and Finance Conference. This award recognizes her significant contributions and unwavering commitment to enhancing the educational experience for numerous students.
