How INEC Resolved the Issue of Ballot Box Snatching
Former Benue Governor, Senator Gabriel Suswam, stated that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has addressed the issue of vote box snatching with the implementation of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BIVAS).
At the flag-off of the Benue North-East senatorial campaign on Monday in Adikpo, the administrative centre of Kwande Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue, Suswam gave a speech.
He warned people against thinking about stealing voting boxes because it would be a pointless endeavour.
He pleaded with the populace to focus on gathering support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“The time for stealing voting machines and other election supplies is over.” You are wasting your time by stealing a ballot box.
For our party to win, Suswam stated, “all you have to do is staff your polling places with your Permanent Voters Card (PVC).”
He also counselled them to run issue-focused campaigns rather than ones that were built on animosity and insults.
The Benue governor, Samuel Ortom, expressed confidence that the PDP would resoundingly prevail in the general elections in 2023.
With such a large attendance at the event, Ortom claimed to be very certain that the Benue North East will cast a sizable number of votes in favour of the party.
“I’ll venture to say that the PDP’s strongholds in the state are the Benue North-West and Benue South Senatorial Districts.
By 2023, PDP will be the only option. All the positions will be won by our party, Ortom guaranteed the crowd.
The governor emphasised that he believed in the unity of purpose when he declared that party members would continue to work together for the benefit of the state and the PDP.
The PDP candidate for governor in the state, Mr. Titus Uba, who was represented by his running mate, Mr. John Ngbede, urged the populace to support the party and keep their unity, emphasising that if they did so, they would win. You can read more of such stories at Credible News.
Additionally, Dr Paul Orhii, the guest speaker, asked the party faithful to support all of the party’s candidates in order to help them bring projects to their respective communities.
They were especially persuaded by Orhii to cast a large number of votes for Suswam in order to help him secure more projects.
Dr. Paul Ubwa, the Director-General (DG) of the campaign council in the senatorial district, had asked the locals to support Suswam with a sizable majority of their votes.
He emphasised that Suswam deserved to be re-elected for a second term and claimed that he had done well as a senator.
Due to his excellent representation, Suswam deserved to be re-elected, according to the event’s chairman, Prof. Dennis Ityavyar.
Ityavyar claimed that Suswam had brought a lot of worthwhile things to his neighbourhood and added that one good deed deserved another.
The event’s co-chairwoman, Mrs. Mwuese Ubebe, gave the crowd the assurance that women in the zone would fight tirelessly to ensure the PDP’s win at both the state and federal levels.
Margaret Icheen, a former speaker of the Benue Assembly, predicted that the PDP would rule the entire nation by 2023.
