DSS Arrests Doyin Okupe

Doyin Okupe, a leader of the Labour Party (LP), has reportedly been detained by agents of the Department of State Services (DSS).

Tolu Babaleye, one of his attorneys, revealed this on Thursday morning.


At the Muritala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, Okupe, the most recent Director General of the Labour Party’s presidential campaign group, was detained.

Recall that Okupe resigned recently as the Director General of Labour Party Campaign Council.

Doyin Okupe, announced his resignation from the party’s campaign council over what he described as personal travails. 

Okupe made the announcement in a letter addressed to Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of Labour Party, where he requested the appointment of a new DG to continue from where he stopped.
