Chioma Ejikeme Relieved of Duties After 13 Months Into Reappointment

President Bola Tinubu has relieved Dr. Chioma Ejikeme of her duties as Executive Secretary of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD). This comes 13 months after her reappointment for another four-year term in October 2023.
A statement from PTAD’s Corporate Communications Unit, issued by Olugbenga Ajayi on Monday, announced that Tolulope Odunaiya has been appointed as the new executive secretary.
Odunaiya officially assumed office on November 18, 2024, succeeding Ejikeme, who served in the role from August 2019 to November 2024.

In her first address to PTAD staff, the newly appointed Executive Secretary, Tolulope Odunaiya, expressed her commitment to strengthening the directorate’s operations. She praised the contributions of her predecessors and vowed to foster collaboration and unity within the organisation.
“It is with a deep sense of responsibility and purpose that I address you as the new Executive Secretary of this Directorate,” she said.
Odunaiya emphasised her goal to create a supportive work environment, empowering staff to focus on the shared mission of enhancing the lives of pensioners.
Focus on Pensioners’ Welfare
Odunaiya outlined her vision to transcend personal interests within the directorate and unite staff around a common goal. “Our purpose is improving the lives of our pensioners, who have selflessly served this nation, often in challenging circumstances,” she stated.
The new Executive Secretary’s commitment signals a renewed focus on the welfare of retired public servants and a determination to uphold the trust placed in PTAD.
