Fayemi Backs Ekiti Lawmakers To Impeach Me – Speaker

Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the outgoing governor of Ekiti State, and some members of the state house of assembly, according to the speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Gboyega Aribisogan, are collaborating on a plan to impeach him.

In an interview for Sunday Politics on Channels Television, Aribisogan made this accusation.

Remember that after Aribisogan was elected Speaker on Tuesday, security personnel closed off the Ekiti assembly complex out of concern that chaos may break out there.

However, the Speaker singled out Fayemi, accusing him of failing to recognise him ever since he was elected Speaker.

“The majority of Assembly members voted for me, but a small number of them felt that perhaps I did not follow the former governor’s, Dr. Fayemi’s, directive, and they feared that they would make the state unmanageable for even the administration.

“I didn’t argue with him in any way. Even last night, I texted him and asked, “What’s going on? Am I no longer your devoted follower? Why didn’t you offer me congratulations?

He has not taken any action as of the time that I am speaking with you. Otherwise, he has been phoning our members to come and impeach me the following day. The truth is that.”

Seven of our members are currently imprisoned in Fem Guest House in Ado Ekiti, plotting how to remove me from office the following day in collusion with some of his former assistants, including the former commissioner for justice.

However, Yinka Oyebode, the governor of Ekiti State’s chief press secretary, has denied the accusations.

He claimed that an internal dispute between the legislative officials will be settled amicably.
