General Elections: INEC Deploys 17,562 Employees To Ondo

Ondo State’s Independent National Electoral Commission announced on Tuesday that 17,562 ad hoc workers would be used for the general election on Saturday.

Acting Resident Electoral Commissioner in Ondo State, Mr. Oyekola Oyelana, expressed the commission’s readiness to conduct a free, fair, and credible election on Saturday during a security meeting in Akure.

The commission in Ondo state is deploying 17,562 ad hoc people to operate in a variety of capacities during the elections on Saturday, he claimed.

“INEC has educated the public on the usage of BVAS during the election.” Together with a thumbprint and facial recognition, BVAS will be utilized for accreditation. We are not concerned about this.

Oyelana assuaged the public’s concerns about whether the election would take place in light of the ongoing situation in the nation by announcing that it would proceed as scheduled.

“There are no issues with the INEC. He emphasized that arrangements had been made to guarantee that the election will proceed as planned.

7,000 security personnel would be on duty for the election, according to the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Oyeyemi Oyediran, who made the announcement in his own remarks.

He claims that among the security personnel who would be deployed are police officers, members of the Nigerian Army, officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, agents of the Nigeria Immigration Service, and members of the Nigerian Navy.

The police boss said, “Over 7,000 combined security personnel are to cover the election. We are assuring the public that we are ready for the success of the forthcoming elections.

“I want to inform the public that they should rest assured that the poll is going to be peaceful and we are all ready for that purpose. Thuggery alongside other related vices will not be allowed.”
