Kemi Olokode-Ayelabola Urges Opposition Parties to Give President Tinubu a Breather and Stop the Distraction

The Chairperson/Convener of one of the campaign groups during the February 2023 Presidential election, Kemi Olokode-Ayelabola on Tuesday appealed to those in opposition camp to stop distracting President Bola Tinubu from laying the solid foundation for physical and social infrastructural development in Nigeria.

This warning was contained in a statement she made available to the media from the Republic of Ireland via her email.

Kemi, a Nigerian in diaspora who is the face behind Asiwaju Renewed Hope (ARH’23) said:

“Without being immodest, I think it is appropriate at a time like this to tell Nigerians who clandestinely pose as patriots, while wittingly or unwittingly their core objectives are meant to distract President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, these individuals really need to be called to order for the country to have peace.

“Honestly, there is nothing new about this Chicago State University matter against President Bola Tinubu, someone was just trying to raise a dead horse in order to tickle fancy which is what I see as a total misadventure. For me its a mere smokescreen meant to distract and disrupt the wheel of progress in the country. What the opposition parties are doing is totally unhealthy for the country’s democracy.

“Meanwhile, it would also be difficult for the Supreme Court to admit fresh evidence because their job is to review the decision of the lower Court and not to now evaluate any fresh evidence. Law doesn’t work with sentiments, public opinions, morality or hearsay, especially if there are no strong evidence to substantiate claims that are made.

“President Tinubu should be given the opportunity to work on his Renewed Hope Agenda; thankfully he has not left anyone in doubt of his administration’s resolve to create a friendly business climate, increase revenue generation, ensure good monetary policy reforms, recruitment of technocrats among others.

“Accordingly, it then behoves on APC leadership, membership and Nigerians in general to join Mr President in filling the huge infrastructure deficit in Nigeria. A huge infrastructure deficit which makes the generation of employment, the alleviation of poverty, industrialization and growth of democracy in our dear country almost impossible.” The statement concluded.
