Imo INEC Office Invaders Killed By Security Operatives Cum Vigilantes
In a botched assault on the Imo State Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC) offices, Owerri, three criminals were reportedly slain early on Monday.
Security personnel are believed to have used the assistance of neighbourhood vigilantes to drive back the invaders, who were said to be numerous.
More Trouble For Adeleke As Court Compels INEC To Produce His Certificates
One of the hoodlums was reportedly taken alive, while three of them were reportedly slain.
According to sources, the fleeing gunmen left their car in Ogbaku.
The police and vigilante men are still pursuing the criminals as of the time of this report.
In recent months, there have been more incidences involving attacks on INEC facilities, with incidents taking place in the eastern states of Ogun and Osun.

November 10, 2022 over 65,000 uncollected PVCs, according to Festus Okoye of INEC’s commission for information and voter education, were destroyed in the fire.
In a statement, he said that “our office in the Abeokuta South local government area was attacked and set ablaze,” according to Dr. Niyi Ijalaiye, the resident electoral commissioner (REC) for Ogun state.
“Around 1.15 am, some unidentified individuals overpowered the on-duty security guards and set the entire facility on fire.
INEC Fixes New Date For PVC Collection
All of the commission’s moveable property in the office was destroyed, along with the main structure. They comprise 65,699 uncollected permanent voters cards (PVCs), 904 ballot boxes, 29 voting cubicles, 30 megaphones, 57 election bags, and 8 electricity generators.
