JAMB 2025 UTME Registration: No Extension, Candidates Urged to Apply Before March 8.
By DAYO ADESULU
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has confirmed that there will be no extension for the JAMB 2025 UTME registration, urging candidates to complete their registration before the March 8 deadline.
In an official statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja, JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, reiterated that the registration period remains fixed and will not be extended under any circumstances.
March 8 Deadline for JAMB 2025 UTME Registration Stands
According to Benjamin, the JAMB 2025 UTME registration began on February 3, 2025, and will officially close on March 8, 2025. He emphasized that candidates should not expect an extension.
“This deadline has been clearly communicated in all advertisements and the official calendar for the 2025 UTME exercise. We urge all prospective candidates to register promptly and avoid waiting until the last minute,” he said.
Over 1.5 Million Candidates Registered for JAMB 2025 UTME
Benjamin revealed that over 1.5 million candidates have already registered, which aligns with JAMB’s projections for the 2025 examination cycle.
“It is essential to note that JAMB’s calendar is fixed, with several scheduled activities after registration, including the examination, results processing, and admissions exercise. Extending the registration period would disrupt not only JAMB’s plans but also those of our partners,” he added.
Why JAMB 2025 UTME Registration Deadline Won’t Be Extended
JAMB has emphasized that maintaining the set registration deadline is critical for a smooth examination process, timely result processing, and efficient admissions exercise.
Benjamin highlighted that the board collaborates with other institutions and agencies, and any change in the schedule could disrupt their timelines.
“These timelines are coordinated with other agencies whose operations depend on the completion of our processes. Therefore, extending the registration period would affect not just JAMB but other stakeholders involved in Nigeria’s higher education admissions system,” he explained.
Common Issues Faced by Late Registrants
JAMB has observed that candidates who delay registration often encounter the following challenges:
- Technical issues on the registration portal due to last-minute rush
- Errors in personal details caused by hurried registrations
- Limited availability of exam centers in preferred locations
- Potential failure to complete the registration process before the deadline
To avoid these challenges, prospective candidates are advised to register as soon as possible and ensure that all required documents and payment details are correctly submitted.
JAMB 2025 UTME Exam: What Candidates Should Expect
Following the closure of JAMB 2025 UTME registration on March 8, 2025, the examination will be conducted as per JAMB’s official timetable.
Key points to note:
- The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will be computer-based (CBT).
- Candidates should expect strict biometric verification before entering exam halls.
- Exam results will be released within days after the test.
- The results will be accessible online via JAMB’s official portal.
Final Reminder: Register Now to Avoid Missing Out
JAMB has issued a final warning that there will be no deadline extension. Candidates who fail to complete their JAMB 2025 UTME registration before March 8, 2025, will not be allowed to sit for the examination.
Benjamin urged all candidates to register promptly and follow JAMB’s guidelines to ensure a smooth registration and examination process.
