PDP Accuses Police of sabotaging Its Campaign In Nasarawa
Labaran Maku, the director general of the Peoples Democratic Party presidential and governorship campaigns in Nasarawa state, has accused the state police command and Governor Abdullahi Sule of intending to disrupt the party’s campaign in the state’s Toto Local Government Area on November 28, 2022.
Maku, a former Minister of Information, expressed dismay that after the PDP informed the police of the party’s intention to begin its campaign on the specified day, Sule allegedly conspired with the police to schedule the APC campaign on the same day and in the same LGA.
The campaign DG, who addressed to journalists at a news conference in Karu LGA on Friday, explained that this was because the PDP had agreed to move the first campaign to November 29, 2022.
“It is peculiar that several hours before the party’s campaign rally, the police commissioner told us that he is unaware that we are conducting our event in Toto LGA, hence we do not have permission,” Maku added.
Maku said: “It was determined that this party was the first to inform the police of our campaign schedule.
“Strangely, we have not been called to any meeting with the APC that there is any conflict, thus it is evident to us that this is an attempt to disrupt the Nasarawa state campaigns.”

“We heard rumours that the state governor was planned a visit to Toto LGA, but it is shocking that this might happen.” Because the incumbent administration is terrified of this election because they have failed to perform, they intend to utilise other means to postpone our election.
“However, as a law-abiding party, we have decided to reschedule our first campaign in Toto LGA to November 29, 2022, after due consultations with other leaders,” Maku said.
Francis Orogu, the state PDP chairman, said the governor had demonstrated that he lacked the capacity to run the state.
He chastised Sule for allegedly threatening to crush anyone who stood in his way of becoming governor in the 2023 elections.
“By every measures, the APC has failed our people.” “The upcoming election would be a walkover for the PDP,” Orogu added.
