PFN Rejects Northern Bishops Caught Fraternising With Tinubu
PFN, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, has rejected the “Pentecostal Bishops Forum of Northern Nigeria” that met with Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, on Friday in Abuja.
In response to the meeting, Bishop David Bakare, the deputy national secretary of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, told a reporter by phone on Sunday in Kaduna that there is no such group within the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria.
He claims that the PFN is unaware of the forum and adds that the PFN “does not have anything regionally oriented like Southern or Northern Pentecostal Bishops.”

According to Bakare, who argued that the PFN is a branch of the Christian Association of Nigeria, the fellowship’s stance on the APC’s same-faith presidential ticket has not altered.
The Pentecostal Bishops Forum of Northern Nigeria and Tinubu’s meeting, he claimed, had nothing to do with the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria.
“I am officially and authoritatively stating to you that the ranks of the Christian community, as well as the PFN that I represent, are not at all broken.”
The PFN’s stance on the same-faith ticket, he continued, “holds as it did at the outset, and we have not, for any reason, changed our view on that matter.”
“The PFN was not present at the highly politicised meeting with the presidential contender. However, we are aware of the commotion this issue has caused in the public sphere. I’m here in my official capacity to make it clear that the PFN has nothing to do with that group.
“We didn’t make such a choice, we haven’t met with that political party, and everything we do will be public knowledge.
”That group exists independently and is unrelated to the actual PFN that is incorporated. I examined the names and the pictures from the conference. About two of the folks I recognised are members of our group, but they speak for themselves.”
