While phone screensavers can add aesthetic appeal and provide some level of protection against scratches and minor impacts, they have limitations and cannot fully protect the screen from damage in certain scenarios.

Impact resistance: Phone screensavers typically consist of thin layers of materials like tempered glass or plastic. While they can absorb minor impacts and prevent scratches, they may not be able to withstand significant forces or protect against high-velocity impacts. A strong impact can still lead to cracks or shattered screens, even with a screensaver in place.

Edge protection: Screensavers usually cover the flat surface of the screen, but they may not provide full coverage for the curved edges or bezels of modern smartphones. The edges are often more vulnerable to damage, and screensavers may not extend to those areas, leaving them exposed to potential impacts.

Drop protection: When a phone is dropped, the force and angle of impact can be unpredictable. While screensavers can help distribute the force and protect against scratches, they may not provide sufficient cushioning or shock absorption to prevent damage in case of a significant drop or fall.
