Terrorists assaulted the family home of the Divisional Police Officer for Dutsi under the Katsina State Police Command on Monday night, killing his mother and younger brother in the process.
Details of the attack remained hazy on Tuesday, while the command’s spokesman, SP Gambo Isah, confirmed the occurrence.
“The incident is factual, but we don’t have details yet,” Isah stated. “Our police officers have already gone there, but I can’t say anything else for the time being.”
The DPO, whose name was withheld for security reasons, claimed to be on duty when the attackers invaded his family’s home.

Meanwhile, police have apprehended Murtala Amme, a 20-year-old guy who allegedly belongs to the camp of a known terrorist named Kamilu Buzaru, who is on the police wanted list.
The police claimed that members of the camp were terrorising people in the state’s Danmusa Local Government Area.
In addition, a 35-year-old man, Ibrahim Dayyabu, of Gobirawa village, Maidabino, Danmusa Local Government Area, is suspected of being a terrorist.
Dayyabu was apprehended on November 23, 2022, by a Kankara Division patrol unit.
He was allegedly riding a brand new Honda motorcycle and on his way to the forest to deliver the motorcycle to other terrorists when he was approached and captured by the police patrol team.
“During the course of the inquiry, Dayyabu admitted to belonging to the camp of a notorious terrorist known as Mani Doro and has brought over seven motorcycles for the terrorists,” the police official continued. His case is still being investigated.”
