IGP Orders Massive Police Redeployment: 7 AIGs, 18 CPs Posted to Strategic Offices Nationwide

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has ordered the immediate police redeployment of seven Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) and 18 Commissioners of Police (CPs) to various strategic offices across Nigeria. This move is aimed at enhancing national security and optimizing law enforcement operations across the country.

A statement released on Thursday by Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the police redeployment, noting that the newly assigned officers will assume their roles immediately. Additionally, the 18 CPs, who are due for promotion to AIG rank, have been deployed to AIG-designated offices pending approval from the Police Service Commission (PSC).

AIG Iwo Nemi Edwin Osigboka – AIG Border Patrol Force, Force Headquarters, Abuja
AIG Garba Ahmed – AIG Department of Training and Development (DTD), Force Headquarters, Abuja
AIG Salman Dogo – AIG Zone 5, Benin
AIG Kanayo Uzuegbu – AIG Zone 9, Umuahia

This police redeployment is designed to strengthen operational effectiveness, enhance security measures, and ensure that policing strategies align with national safety priorities.
