Vice Chancellor Nominates Two Candidates for DVC (Administration) Role in Special Senate Meeting

According to the LASU Laws 2004 (As Amended), the Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, has presented two candidates to compete for the position of Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), which will become vacant by Thursday, October 12, 2023.

The presentation was presented by the Vice Chancellor at the virtual Special Senate meeting on September 21, 2023.

According to the Vice Chancellor, three (3) applications were received at the conclusion of the deadline for expressions of interest, and under LASU Laws 2004 (As Amended), the Vice Chancellor is authorised to bring two (2) of those applications to the Senate.

The two (2) candidates presented by the Vice Chancellor are:

i. Prof. Adenike Boyo , the incumbent Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration); AND

ii. Prof. Yunus Dauda , Director, Lagos State University School of Basic and Advanced Studies (LASUBAS).

Credible News Nigeria reports that Senate at its 301st Statutory meeting held on Thursday, 31st August 2023 approved the timetable for election of Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) which will become vacant by Thursday 12th October 2023 .

The election will hold on Thursday, 28th September 2023 ( 9:00a.m to 1:00p.m) at the Senate Chamber, First Floor, Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, main Campus, Ojo, Lagos.
