APC Faction Applauds Tribunal Verdict, Calls on Opposition to Back Tinubu

Bola Campaign Organisation, a political advocacy organisation for the 2023 presidential elections, has praised the judiciary for upholding President Bola Tinubu’s victory and the All Progressives Congress’ victory in the presidential election on February 25.

By declaring Tinubu the winner of the presidential election, the court, according to BCO, has once again proven that it is a true guardian of democracy in the nation.

This was said in a statement released on Thursday and signed by the organization’s National Patron, Alhaji Abdulwahab Quardi, National Coordinator, Mohammed Makinta, and National Women’s Leader, Alhaja Folashade Tinubu-Ojo.

The petitions against the declaration of Tinubu as the winner of the presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission on March 1, 2023, were dismissed by turns by a five-member panel of the Tribunal, including those submitted by the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the Labour Party and its candidate, Peter Obi.

Judge Haruna Tsammani, the tribunal’s chairman, gave the decision with assistance from Stephen Adah, Monsurat Bolaji-Yusuf, Moses Ugo, and Abba Mohammed.

The group argued that the tribunal’s decision was an affirmation of the trust that Nigerians had placed in the President and characterised the ruling as thorough, articulate, and precise.

In it, it was written, “We thank the courts for this victory, for exhibiting extraordinary will by validating the mandate freely given to President Bola Tinubu by the Nigerian people on February 25.”

“We are thrilled that the judiciary has bravely shown that the APC and its candidate were the true election winners through its granular, well-reasoned, and thorough findings.

“This judgement will act as a morale booster for the President and his team and was an expression of the trust reposed in the President by Nigerians.”

However, the organisation urged members of the opposition parties to work with President Tinubu for the improvement of the country.

The group continued, “We, therefore, urge on members of the opposition, in particular Mr Peter Obi of the LP and his PDP counterpart, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to work with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take Nigeria to enviable heights in terms of economic prosperity and human capital development.
