YABATECH Embraces Innovation: Launches 15-Member Industry Advisory Committee
The Yaba College of Technology’s Industry Advisory Committee for ICT Skills has been officially launched by Dr. Ibraheem Abdul, the college’s rector.
The 15-person group, led by Engr. Olajide Faheed, represents an important step in the college’s dedication to encouraging excellence in technology education and bridging the town and gown gap.
The Rector stated during his speech at the Inauguration that “information and communication technology has a significant impact on the world we live in today.
It affects every part of our life, including business, entertainment, and even healthcare and education.
Yaba College of Technology is committed to generating graduates who are not only academically qualified but also well-equipped to meet the demands of the ever changing tech world since it recognises the necessity of keeping at the forefront of technological breakthroughs.
The Industry Advisory Committee for ICT Skills which brings together a distinguished group of industry leaders, experts, and educators will serve as a bridge between the institution and the dynamic tech sector, the Rector advanced.
Dr Abdul added that the primary goal of the Committee is to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and best practices between Yaba College of Technology and the tech industry.
‘With the guidance of these industry leaders, the college aims to create a learning environment that fosters innovation, entrepreneurship, and the development of cutting-edge skills’
Dr. Ibraheem Abdul also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the members of the committee for their willingness to contribute their time, expertise, and insights. Their involvement reflects their commitment to the future of Yaba College of Technology’s students and the growth of Nigeria’s technology ecosystem.
He acknowledged the hard work of the dedicated faculty and staff who have been instrumental in bringing this committee to fruition and embarking on a journey to empower the students with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the digital era.
As the Industry Advisory Committee for ICT Skills is being inaugurated, there is a sense of optimism and determination in the air as the collaboration between Yaba College of Technology and industry leaders will shape the future of technology education and contribute to the development and progress of Nigeria’s technology landscape.

Saliu, representing Yabatech; Comrade Onadeko and Engr Shogeyinbo, both representing COMTEAN, Dr. John Onyebuchi representing the National Board for Technical Education; Engr Ottun representing Meaconsat Limited, Dr Nolas- Alausa representing the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Dr, Ade-Onajobi representing the Manufactures Association of Nigeria.
