The Appeal Court in Abuja has overturned an election tribunal’s decision to annul Ademola Adeleke’s election as governor of Osun State.
In a unanimous decision, the three-member panel led by Justice Mohammed Shuaibu stated that the All Progressives Congress and former Governor Gboyega Oyetola had failed to prove their case of overvoting on the part of the People’s Democratic Party candidate in the election.
Adeleke is the duly elected governor of the state, according to the panel of judges who issued their decision on Friday.
In January, the Osun governorship election tribunal ruled that Oyetola had proven that there was over-voting in some polling units.
