Tinubu Wins Certificate Suit In Court
The All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has won the lawsuit filed against him over his primary and secondary certificate issues.
A Federal High Court in Abuja struck out a request seeking to nullify his candidature for the 2023 election.
The presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) was sued by the Action Peoples Party (APP).
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was added as the first defendant in the FHC/UM/CS/124/2022.
The ruling APC is the third defendant, followed by the former governor of Lagos.

According to the plaintiff’s claims, Tinubu reportedly provided the first defendant with incorrect information on his form EC9.
They claimed he omitted information about his elementary and secondary schooling from the form CF001 he completed in 1999 before the governor’s race.
Sections 29 of the Electoral Act of 2022 and 131 of the Nigerian Constitution of 1999 were referenced by the APP.
APC counsel, Babatunde Ogala filed a notice of preliminary objection, insisting the suit was statute barred and that the APP had no locus standi.
APC campaign spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga said the plaintiff was not in court when the matter came up before Justice Emeka Nwite.
“Justice Nwite subsequently struck out the case for lack of diligent prosecution”, Onanuga added.
