APC, PDP are at odds ahead of Tinubu’s Osun campaign

The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential rally will be held at the Osogbo Township Stadium on Thursday, according to the Osun State Government, which has given its approval.

The government remembered that the immediately preceding governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, did not sanction such usage for the Peoples Democratic Party when he was in office in a statement signed by the spokesperson to the governor, Olawale Rasheed, and received on Wednesday.

It detailed how the stadium had been given the go-ahead to manage the state’s tense security environment and gave security agencies instructions to provide the rally’s venue with the highest level of security.

Thus, in order to maintain peace and tranquility throughout the state, Governor Ademola Adeleke of the state has instructed the Department of State Services and the State Police Command to enforce state laws.

The governor of the state also urged Osun natives to maintain their composure and peace while admonishing them against any attempts to instigate a fight, it continued.

The government has also urged state citizens not to attend the APC’s presidential rally.

“The APC imported its death agents. There is a chance that they will get into altercations and fights. It is crucial for our people to be secure and far from the conglomeration of bad hands, the statement said.

The PDP and Adeleke were allegedly involved in a plot to kidnap some of the APC’s key figures and families in Osun, according to the party’s local leadership. The party said that the objective was to destabilize the APC ahead of the 2019 elections.

In a statement, the state’s acting APC chairman, Mr. Tajudeen Lawal, added that Adeleke and his party members should be aware that no amount of covert planning would guarantee him the governorship election after he lost his appeal before the tribunal last Friday.

The state police command and other security organizations in the state were urged by Lawal to pay attention to the “diabolical goal” of the struggling governor and come up with a solid strategy for thwarting the dishonorable and hazy scheme.

Lawal vowed to reveal Adeleke and his lieutenants’ plans to incite additional unrest in the country using all legal methods at his disposal.

The sooner Adeleke retraces his steps in using certain infamous political hoodlums in this state to kidnap, maim, and attack our members and our families, the better.
