Beware of Fraudulent Exam Messages: JAMB Issues Warning
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued an urgent warning regarding misleading messages that are circulating, purportedly sent from its 66019 shortcode. These deceptive communications instruct candidates, including some who have already completed their resit examinations and received their results, to reprint their examination slips for what is claimed to be a retake.
In a clear statement, JAMB has emphasized that these messages are **not** official and are part of a fraudulent scheme designed to confuse candidates. The board confirmed that there are currently **no scheduled examinations**, and candidates who have successfully completed their resit examinations need not respond to such messages.
JAMB indicated that the only upcoming examination will be a foreign examination targeted at candidates in nine countries across Europe, the Middle East, and selected African nations. Furthermore, a mop-up examination is planned for those who missed both the main and resit exams and have been granted waivers. This mop-up opportunity is specifically for candidates who experienced biometric failures, and it is scheduled for 2025.
The board urges all candidates and the general public to **disregard these fraudulent messages**. Qualified individuals for the mop-up examination will receive official notifications once preparations are finalized.
