Kidnapped PDP Chieftain In Plateau Rescued
Jerry Fwankis, the leader of the Peoples Democratic Party in Plateau State’s Bokkos Local Government Area, has been abducted by gunmen.
According to information, the PDP leader was kidnapped on Sunday night at his home in the Council Area hamlet of Tangur.
John Akans, the PDP’s state publicity secretary, confirmed that Jerry Fwankis had been kidnapped via a brief message emailed to The PUNCH in Jos on Sunday.
“We are profoundly disturbed by the awful news that the PDP Chairman of the Bokkos Local Government, Hon. Jerry Fwankis, has been kidnapped by unidentified gunmen,” Akans remarked.
“This tragic incident took place at his home in Tangur Bokkos local government this evening. Let’s ask God to keep him safe.

At the time this article was being written, Alabo Alfred, the spokesman for the Plateau state police command, could not be immediately reached for comment on the kidnap of Jerry Fwankis
But according to officials at the Command headquarters, the kidnapped chairman, Jerry Fwankis was saved a short while later through the combined efforts of local vigilantes and police who gave the kidnappers a furious pursuit.
The source stated, “There is excellent news coming this evening that Jerry Fwankis has been rescued by the neighbourhood watch members with the assistance of the police and other security personnel. That is the most recent, positive development about the PDP chief’s kidnapping.
