Mohammed Emerges the First SAN in Zamfara Since its Creation in 1996

Sani Abdul Aziz Mohammed, has emerged the first Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in Zamfara State since its creation in 1996.

Elites in the state declared, with glee, that there has never been a Senior Advocate of Nigeria in the state since it was founded in 1996.

The people of the state are happy to be linked with Sani Abdul Aziz Mohammed, according to Andi Haliru, a former Special Adviser on Public Enlightenment to the State’s first executive Governor, Ahmed Sani Yarima.

Despite being the only SAN the State has produced, “Barrister Sani Abdul Aziz Mohammed has made Zamfara natives very proud,” he remarked.

Sani Abdul Aziz Mohammed was born on October 8, 1979, in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State, to Mr. and Mrs. Sani Mohammed.

From 1986 to 1990, Mohammed attended Township Model Primary School in Gusau. From 1991 to 1997, he attended Federal Government College in Jos, Plateau State. From 1999 to 2000, he attended Haliru Binji College of Arts and Science in Sokoto, where he earned his certificate.

“Subsequently, Mohammed was accepted to study law at Usmanu Danfodio University in Sokoto, where he earned his LLB in 2004. He then moved on to the Nigerian Law School in Lagos in 2005, where he was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 2006.

Mohammed began working for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Abuja in 2007 as a legal officer and became an expert in all types of election-related issues, such as employment disputes, alternative dispute resolution, and land affairs.

Sani’s SAN appointment, according to Andi Haliru, was only made possible thanks to the goodwill and assistance he received from INEC’s top legal department staff as well as from his coworkers.
