DK Olukoya (PhD), the general overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, has warned prophets who enjoy giving fake political prophecies on Nigeria’s election to abstain from the heinous practise.
The pulpits in the House of God, according to Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, are for speaking the truth to God’s children and should not be used for politicians’ political campaigns.
The esteemed deliverance pastor announced this during his sermon on Sunday at the church’s main campus, criticising the failure of many Christian leaders who had foretold the results of the 2023 elections.
Olukoya claimed that by making erroneous prophecies about their chosen politicians in the run-up to the elections, the so-called prophets dishonoured the Christian religion.
“You see, what happened in Nigeria during these most recent elections, tarnished Christianity quite well,” he continued. According to this prophet, this guy will triumph, and this guy will lose, Olukoya remarked.
If this person wins, they can amputate my hand, and if this person wins, he or she will pass away before fulfilling his or her wish.
“All did not come to pass, and they call themselves prophets. Prophets of where? It is madness when you begin to say what God does not ask you to say. The pulpit in the house of God is the pillar and ground of truth. It is not for political campaigns,” Olukoya added.
The 2023 elections saw many Nigerian clerics come out to predict who would be winners, a move that caused confusion among the populace. The presidential election, which took place on February 25, produced President Bola Tinubu as the winner.
But on Wednesday, contrary to prophetic predictions, the presidential election petition tribunal upheld the election of President Bola Tinubu in the February 25 poll.

“Having concluded and decided that all three petitions are all devoid of merit, the petitions are hereby dismissed,” the panel said on Wednesday.
After more than nine hours of examining the petitions and defence of the parties, the five-man panel led by Haruna Tsammani, ruled that “Tinubu is returned as duly elected president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”.
The tribunal said the petitions filed by Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) challenging Tinubu’s victory were “all devoid of merit.”
