Police and Gunmen Struggle For Supremacy In Anambra

Police personnel were involved in a gun war with a gang of armed guys who were allegedly part of a cult for nearly an hour.

It was learned that the event took place late on Saturday in the Aguleri community of Anambra State’s Anambra East Local Government Area.

According to reports, the armed guys attacked the neighbourhood and opened fire before police officers arrived, and the shooting continued between both sides.

Although the cause of the invasion could not be determined, local sources claimed that the teens were on their way to a local police station when they were stopped by the officers.

Although no one was killed, sources claim that some police officers and armed gang members were hurt during the shootings.

According to Punch sources, no less than 15 individuals have so far been detained and placed under arrest. You can read more of such stories at Credible News.

The incident happened late on Saturday, and the situation has since been brought under control.

“We’ve arrested a few people and found some hazardous weapons. Other conflict-resolution strategies are in place while waiting to hear from the young people who feel wronged.

”Please be aware that we have increased patrols in the area in an effort to promote safety and harmony. More information will be sent.”
