I’m Physically Fit For Nigerian President, Says Tinubu
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress’s nominee for president, has once more defended his physical fitness by asserting that no one with a serious illness can do seven trips like he did during Umrah.
Shortly before his arrival back in Saudi Arabia, Tinubu made the remarks in an interview with Freedom Radio, Kano’s top independent radio station.
In contrast to the Hajj, which has set dates according to the Islamic calendar, Umrah is an annual pilgrimage to Mecca that is performed by Muslims.
On Sunday night, the former governor of Lagos State landed at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja, where he was welcomed with open arms by party members and loyalists.
The APC’s nominee for president said he is qualified for the position and that those who disagree with him only have lies and conjecture to spread.
I recently finished the Umrah, he declared. I travelled by myself on the seven Tawaf rounds and the seven excursions between Safa and Marwa. Can someone who is sick do that?

I’m asking the people of the nation to have faith in and respect for the fact that I have what it takes to be the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Take a look at my experience and prior projects. I want to give my country my very best service.
Tinubu said the nation is in desperate need of prayers and that his Umrah journey was a spiritual rebirth.
“It is a private trip. It is a journey intended to revive the soul. I enjoy coming occasionally to complete the Umrah. It is a chance to communicate with the All-Powerful Allah. We require his direction. We have assembled here to pray for our nation, ourselves, and society because Nigeria is in critical need of prayers, he remarked.
At the same time, he defended his decision to institute town hall meetings and other forms of political involvement by claiming that organising rallies across the nation would not be sufficient to win the 2023 presidential election.
“Every Nigerian is being reached. Rallies, we decided, are not always sufficient. We must involve all Nigerians, from all regions of the nation and from all spheres of our socioeconomic existence.
