Boko Haram Attacks Atiku’s Convoy In Borno, 70 Hospitalized

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar’s convoy was attacked on Wednesday in Maiduguri, Borno State.

A number of people were seen running in separate directions as bullets tore through the air in a video that was shared on social media.

On Wednesday, the opposition party’s presidential campaign tour arrived in Borno, a state under the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Atiku’s convoy was carrying vandalised vehicles when our reporter spotted it in Maiduguri, the state capital, in Ramat Square.

Senator Dino Malaye, spokesman for the Atiku campaign, attributed the incident to Borno’s ruling party.

Melaye bemoaned the fact that over 70 patients were hospitalised.

“They intended to stop us from holding the campaign, and right now, 74 people are hurt and being treated at hospitals.

“APC thugs vandalised several vehicles.”

As of the date this report was filed, the APC had not yet responded to Melaye’s accusation.

Numerous suspected political thugs were spotted by a Daily Trust reporter in key points along the Maiduguri–Kano road.
