Motorists Laud FG As It Removes Barricades From Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Motorists plying the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway have lauded the Federal Government for removing the barricades placed on the route.

The removal of the barriers, which were employed to reduce the width of the expressway’s traffic lanes, has granted travellers using it a reprieve.

Drivers who used to spend between three and four hours on the Long Bridge inward of Lagos on a span of roughly three kilometres had to endure unimaginable agony due to the express road’s shortening as a result of ongoing construction.

Due to the holiday season, the federal authorities decided to remove the barricades and temporarily halt construction on the route.

The elimination was done on Monday by the federal authorities.

Wednesday’s inspections revealed that there was no shortage of commercial motorcycle riders, known as Okada riders, despite the expressway’s unrestricted flow of traffic both into and out of Lagos.

Crediblenews.com.ng reports that there is a great relief over the expressway’s ease of travel, as motorists claimed that Monday marked the beginning of the free flow of traffic in that route.
